Our family will spend a year living in Madagascar to start Tonga Soa Guesthouse to support and help expand the ministries of Red Island Restoration.  We plan to move to Madagascar in summer 2016 and return to the US in summer 2017.

Why Madagascar and why a guesthouse, you ask?  Our friends Jamie and Alissa Shattenberg are already serving as missionaries in Madagascar.  Their work with the poor in Madagascar is growing and they need help to expand their ministry.  The ministries employ over 300 people to plant trees in deforested areas and provide vital health services to women and infants.  Be sure to check out the videos highlighting the work of these organizations and stories of the lives being changed. A guesthouse is needed to host more volunteers, workers, experts, and partners that will support further growth and reach more people.

Our primary work for the year will be to help start the guesthouse, host visitors, equip the house, and train local Malagasy employees to run the guest house.  At the end of the year, we will be able to hand off instructions to new hosts to continue operation of the guesthouse.

Additionally, we look forward to helping with other projects related to the work of Eden Projects and Sarobidy Maternity Center.  If you didn't before, check out the cool videos.  There are a number of projects that we will be able to help with during the year.

There is so much more that we could share.  We would love to get together or set up a time to Skype or phone to let you know more about our plans for the year in Madagascar.

We are very humbled and honored to have the generous support of family, friends, churches and organizations like you to partner with us through prayer and financial support to make this year happen. We are also grateful for the opportunity to share with your church, organization, foundation, or other individuals that would be interested in partnering with us!  We cannot do it without your support.

We must raise the majority of support before we leave and appreciate your generous one-time gift or recurring donations (up to 18-months) to support our time in Madagascar.  Funds raised will cover our families travel and living expenses as well as the guesthouse expenses including employee salaries and a vehicle that will stay with the house after we leave.  We have selected Delta Ministries as a mobilizing agency and support organization for training, logistics, and fund-raising for our time in Madagascar.  Delta focuses on enabling short and mid-term missionaries like our family to serve around the globe.  All donations made through Delta are tax-deductible, where applicable.

IMPORTANT: After clicking on the button below, select Catagory "Mid-Termer Support" and then select "Jensen - JoshandAmanda -2016900WV" to make sure your donation goes to support our family.
